Australia’s star batter Steve Smith is unfazed by the hype around the term Bazzball as he has given an open challenge to the England cricket team.

What is Bazzball?
Well, the term ‘bazzball’ became the most-talked-about word during the recently concluded final Test match between the England and Indian cricket teams at Edgbaston. The England side used this approach and chased down the target of 378 runs in the fourth innings of the match.

The term became crazily viral as the Ben Stokes-led England cricket team displayed some fearless cricket and ended up snatching the game away from India by seven wickets.
This was England’s fourth Test win under the guidance of new head coach Brendon McCullum in four Test matches. For the unversed, Bazzball is the England Test squad’s newfound fearless approach in the longest format of the game. This approach by Brendon McCullum requires the cricketers to be ultra-positive while batting and always fighting for victory.

Steve Smith Took A Dig At England Cricket Team
Meanwhile, recently, Steve Smith was asked about his views on the approach. Smith admitted that the bazzball cricket by England is entertaining but he also ended up taking a dig at their arch-rivals. He said he feels things won’t be the same when Australian bowlers bowl on grass surfaces. He said:
“I’ve watched a little bit of it, it’s certainly been entertaining. Even someone like Alex Lees started to come down the wicket when he was on nothing. It’s been exciting. I’m just intrigued to see how long it lasts, if it’s sustainable. If you come on a wicket that’s got some grass on it and Josh Hazlewood, [Pat] Cummins and [Mitchell] Starc are rolling in at you, is it going to be the same? We’ll see what happens. I’m intrigued by it all, we’ll see what happens,”
It has to be noted that England suffered a 4-0 loss in the Ashes 2021-22 against Australia, earlier this year. The humiliating defeat was followed by a Test series loss for England against West Indies.
