The 2022 edition of the Legends League Cricket will begin on September 16 — here is the full schedule, list of fixtures and match timings for LLC 2022.
The tournament will begin with a special match, on September 16. The contest, titled the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations match at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, between two teams called the India Maharajas and World Giants, will not be part of the tournament. The main phase will begin on September 17, and will feature 15 games.
The four teams – India Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Manipal Tigers, Bhilwara Kings – will play in a double round robin league format, from September 17. The top two teams will then meet in a Qualifier, from which the winner will advance to the final, which will be played on October 5. The team that loses the final will play against the third-ranked team in the Eliminator, which will provide the other participant in the final.
The matches will be played across five stadia. Barring the Eden Gardens, the others are Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow; Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi; Barabati Stadium, Cuttack; and Barkatullah Khan Stadium, Jodhpur. The venue of the final is yet to be decided.
This is the second edition of the tournament. The World Giants won the first season, played in Muscat, Oman this January. They beat the Asia Lions in the final. The third team was the India Maharajas.
