Veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was axed from India’s ODI and T20I squads named for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. The series comprises three T20Is and as many ODIs. The three T20Is will be played on January 3, 5, and 7 followed by the three ODIs on 10, 12, and 15. Bhuvi last played for India in the T20 World Cup 2022.
Along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami has also been ignored from the T20I squad. He is included in the ODI squad though for the three-match series. Both of them recently played in the T20 World Cup in Australia. Bhuvi ended the campaign with just four wickets. Shami ended the campaign with six wickets to his name.

Management Looking To Invest In Young Bowlers

The management is also willing to invest in Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Sen both of who are currently out injured. Kuldeep made his ODI debut for India in the series against Bangladesh. He played the first ODI and picked up an injury to miss the remaining games.
The management has included four all-rounders in the T20I squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. This is a huge indication that the management is looking for multi-dimensional players to add more depth to the side. Along with Hardik, Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel and Mavi himself make up the four all-rounders.
