James Anderson has been a great servant for England cricket for over a couple of decades. He has established many records that will take some beating. The experienced campaigner was expected to play a key role in the Ashes as England were hoping to win the urn for the first time since 2015. However, the pacer has not been able to live up to the lofty standards he has set for himself.

In the ongoing fifth Ashes Test at Kennington Oval, London, Anderson managed just one wicket in the first innings and will have to step up in the second innings if England are to level the series. The stalwart turned 41 on Sunday, July 30, on Day 4 of the fifth Test. His family was present at the ground. Anderson’s daughters, Lola Rose and Ruby Luxe, brought a special poster for their father.

James Anderson was bowling the 29th over in Australia’s innings. After he bowled the fourth ball of the over, the camera panned to the balcony, where a poster was visible, and it read: “Happy Birthday Dad”.

A special little message from two adorable kids must have melted the veteran’s heart. Fans also drooled over the sweet gesture.

Umpires take early Tea after rain delay

England were in pole position to win the fourth Test in Manchester as they dominated the first three days of the encounter. However, rain Gods weren’t too kind to them as persistent precipitation stopped them from pushing for a win in a do-or-die clash.

The fifth Test has shown early signs of an eerie resemblance to the previous game as England were in a dominating position after Day 3 but play on Day 4 was halted after the post-lunch session due to rain and umpires were forced to take early Tea. The weather forecast isn’t too promising for English supporters for the rest of the day and even on Day 5. Australia have got an excellent start as both openers have scored half-centuries and kept the English bowlers at bay. However, the visitors have a long way to go as the target is a daunting 384.
