India and Pakistan will meet each other for the second time in the Asia Cup 2023 on September 10 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Their last meeting in the tournament ended in a no result as rain washed out the contest in Pallekele.

India come into the contest on the back of a 10-wicket win over Nepal as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored 74 and 67 respectively to help India chase down Nepal’s 230. Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja picked up three wickets each.

Pakistan, on the other hand, defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets. Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan scored 78 and 63* respectively to help Pakistan chase down Bangladesh’s 193. Haris Rauf has been the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan with nine wickets in three matches while Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi have picked seven wickets each.

The match is expected to be a close contest between two evenly matched teams. India will be looking to avenge their loss to Pakistan in the T20 Asia Cup last year, while Pakistan will be eager to maintain their unbeaten run in the tournament.
